Évry is located in north central France in the Ile-de-France region and is part of the Essonne department.
Évry is considered a new town which is built around the commune of
Évry and is approximately 20 miles from the centre of Paris. A wide variety of business services are offered in
Évry and the town is a commercial centre of industrial and office parks as well as the University of
Évry Val-d’Essonne.
Évry is a pleasant town that offers a large central retailing and leisure complex that offers a variety of shopping venues and leisure activities. Some of the other attractions in and around the town of
Évry include the Cathedrale Saint Spire which dates back to 957 with the current structure constructed in 1437. The cathedral has a magnificent entryway and contains the remains of mural paintings from the 14th and 15th centuries.

Évry grew enormously during the 1960s and many of the buildings are constructed with modern architecture. It has an active cultural life due to the University of
Évry being located nearby which has an eclectic student population of close to 10,000 and is a highly regarded institution both nationally and internationally.

Évry each year. You can also enjoy a wide variety of summer festivals and jazz festivals in nearby
Paris that feature well known international artists.
