One of the primary attractions is the Fort at
Champigny-sur-Marne which was constructed after the Franco-Prussian war between 1870 and 1871. The fort was constructed as protection for the city and was built between 1878 and 1880. It is constructed with a front, two flanks, and a gorge which is separated by two caponiers. It also has a distinctive cobblestone courtyard with a guardhouse at the entrance.

Champigny-sur-Marne include the Champigny Crypt Memorial known as Champigny-la-Bataille which is dedicated to the battle of the Siege of Paris in 1870. The main entrance contains the magnificent Tour du Village tower and the castle also contains the King’s and Queen’s pavilions which signify the important role of the structure in French history.
