Transportation in France

Transportation in France comes in a plethora of choices from which you are able to choose from depending on how great of a distance that you need to travel. For starters you can travel by air as every single major city in France also has an airport. However, although there are a number of available budget airlines in the country, the cost of flying versus the time it takes is not really worth the effort.

You may also opt to take the bus as France does offer many major private bus companies which have many stop throughout various cities in France. While this may also seem to be a very affordable means of traveling, as compared to the country’s high speed rail system, the cost versus the time to travel makes traveling by train the better choice.

For getting you off the beaten path and to many locations which cannot be reached by the other forms of transportation in France, the car is the perfect choice. It is important to note however that when you opt for renting a car that you go for the diesel as it is far cheaper for the distance.

When traveling through the major cities of France, you can always take the public bus systems. However these pubic busses do not go very far outside of the major cities and therefore are only good when you need to travel around a city such as Paris.

Finally you have one of the most efficient rail systems in the world located in France. The vast majority of France’s rail system is utilized by high speed trains that are also extremely affordable. To travel from one point to another within the country, the best way to go is by train since this is the best way to quickly travel to one section of France to another.
