Retiring in France

When it comes to the time of retirement, many people all over the world start thinking about the best places for them to retire. The reason for this is simply for the fact that upon retiring, the average person is living on a very tight fixed income which usually is not sufficient to live from in the country where they preside. One such place that many retirees are turning to is none other than that of France which offers you a great quality of living while at the same time it is also able to provide all of the modern comforts from which you have come accustomed to.

Start your French retirement by making your way to the French Consulate office in your county and apply for the carte de séjour visiteur. You will have to provide information on your financial capabilities which can include things like your pension plan statement. You will also need to make sure that your medical health provider will cover medical costs in France as well.

To complete the retirement process in order to spend your golden days in France, you will need to show a signed and valid passport which is good for at least 3 months beyond your final day of stay as well as 8 different forms which will need to be completely filled out and signed. Along with each of these forms you will have to include a passport photo as well as legal residency status and a long-term application annex.

Please make sure that you take the time to visit and speak with the consulate’s office as they will be able to assist you in making sure that everything you need is completed and turned in the proper fashion, so as not to delay the processing of your retirement visa. Furthermore, it is suggested that you first make a two to three month visit to France to ensure that you will enjoy and be able to afford retiring in France.
