Let’s face it, if you want to get the most out of your money, you have to move to a location in which the cost of living is far less than where you are living at now. One such place that makes a viable option without having to choose for a third world country is that of France. France’s cost of living is much lower than a large portion of the European Union including places like the UK. It is for that reason why many retirees from the United Kingdom make their way to France in order to spend their golden years in a little more luxurious lifestyle.
With the cost of land in France lower than that of land in the UK, Britons alone make up 60% of all foreign real estate transactions each and every single year. Irregardless though, the prices of real estate increase only with inflation and good bargains are always around to be found. Furthermore, in some regions the prices of real estate is so stagnant that one can easily buy land for next to nothing.
When you are renting a place to stay you will have a number of bills, and while some may seem a bit different, they still add up to a lot of savings. From inhabitance tax to the cost of water, electricity and garbage collection, one can easily get by with 100 Euros a month in bills. This of course does not include the actual rental fee or the cost of food, but then again these are usually the biggest portion of one’s budget and simply from looking at these alone you can see how much savings can be had in France.
With the cost of living in France so low, its is amazing that more people do not opt to make the move to the country in order to spend their golden years or even to attend college.
