Antibes is a resort town located in southeastern France on the Riviera in the Alpes-Maritimes department.
Antibes is situated on the Mediterranean Sea in between
Cannes and
Nice. The town is known for leisure and industry with the technological park of Sophia-Antipolis located to the north which hosts a variety of world famous multimedia companies.
Antibes is also known as
Antibes-Juan-les-Pins where most of the tourists gather to enjoy nightlife.
Antibes is known as a primary trading centre due to its protected port location on the French Riviera. The town has a population of over 80,000 inhabitants and was founded during the 5th century by Greek settlers.
Antibes was formerly known as Antipolis until the Greek empire fell into decline. Many different inhabitants ruled
Antibes until it was eventually taken over by France.
Antibes is a popular seaside resort and nightlife area that offers beautiful sandy beaches, a variety of specialty boutiques, casinos, and fine cuisine. It is known for its extensive coastline and is home to the Hotel du Cap which is one of the most exclusive hotels in the world.

Antibes was formerly a Greek town it became a Roman town in later years and is filled with Roman artifacts that are situated throughout the town and in the nearby museums.
Antibes has five trading ports along the Mediterranean and Port Vauban which is the largest leisure boat port in Europe.
Antibes is bordered with fortifications along the sea and boasts an extensive wall which lines the port. Some of the main attractions include the Modern Art Museum which was created from the previous Chateau, the History and Archaeology Museum, and the Museum of Traditional Crafts.
Visitors enjoy the many quaint streets where there is a host of specialty shops and restaurants that serve a wide variety of cuisine.
Antibes is also known for its legendary jazz festivals which attracts many notable artists to the town each year.
